The Digital Preservation Testbed was established by the Dutch Government to
carry out research into approaches for the long term preservation of
archival records.  The Testbed is part of a wider Digitale Duurzaamheid
(Digital Longevity) programme and maintains a selection of pages
specifically about Digital Preservation within the Digital Longevity
website. You can access these by visiting http://www.digitaleduurzaamheid.nl
- just click on Testbed Digitale Bewaring and this will take you into the
Testbed pages.
Whilst the site is mostly in Dutch, several pages have also been translated
into English. These pages are grouped in a separate section on the
Navigation bar entitled Testbed (English).

The site includes:
* Information about the Project - its background, scope,
target group and deliverables
* An online version of the Testbed Research Database, which
allows the user to surf through this knowledge bank via an alphabetical list
or through keywords;
* Links to other websites with an interest in, or related to,
digital preservation
* Contact information
* Digital Preservation Events listing
* Digital Preservation Testbed Newsletter
* Digital Preservation Testbed Publications and Papers,
including the recently published White Paper on Migration

We are also developing a Glossary of Terms, and intend to post our final
recommendations and information about our results on the website when the
project draws to a close in October 2003.

We encourage anyone with an interest in digital preservation to visit these
pages, and we are keen to receive feedback and comments through
