CITY OF KITCHENER
CORPORATE RECORDS ANALYST
Competition #36-791
(Full time, permanent)


You will provide technical expertise and advice in the areas of records and
library management as well as archives to all City departments.  In addition
to assisting the Manager of Corporate Records to implement new corporate
records management (CRM) program components, the Analyst's primary
responsibilities are:

*       Filing system development and implementation.
*       Records inventory, retention scheduling and retention compliance
auditing.
*       Maintenance of records and library management automated systems and
provision of systems administration for those applications.
*       Coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Records
Centre including matters relating to security, safety and organization.
*       Training of departmental staff in all aspects of the records
management program.
*       Assisting with the development and ongoing revision of procedures,
reference manuals and training materials.
*       Library management including cataloguing and collection acquisition
and maintenance.
*       Archives management including collection acquisition, indexing and
processing, and administrative history creation.

The successful candidate:

*       Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
*       Must pass a medical examination if required.
*       Must have minimum 2 year post secondary education in a related field
(records management, information or library science) or equivalent
experience.
*       Must have a minimum of 2 - 4 years records management-related
experience.
*       Must have proven knowledge of records management principles with
library management and/or archival principles an asset.
*       Must have demonstrated ability to complete records analysis and
research.
*       Must have working knowledge of information management systems (both
manual and automated).
*       Must have knowledge of micrographics and imaging processes,
standards and systems.
*       Must have exceptionally strong customer service skills and the
ability to work well with a wide variety of people.
*       Must be able to carry out multiple projects simultaneously, within
established deadlines and with minimal supervision.
*       Must have demonstrated excellence in verbal and written
communication skills.
*       Must have excellent personal computer skills utilizing Microsoft
Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) as well as information
management systems.

Salary Range:   $35,357-$44,196 per annum
