James Mavor's autobiography, _My Windows on the Street of the
World_ (2 volumes, Toronto and London: J. M. Dent & Sons, New
York: E. P. Dutton, 1923) includes chapters on William Morris,
Tolstoy, Kropotkin, and the Doukhobors, with all of whom he
associated. Mavor succeeded William Ashley as Professor of Political
Economy at the University of Toronto in 1892 and taught there for
thirty years.
