        Just because I keep Schumpeter's HISTORY OF ECONOMIC  
ANALYSIS on my desk, and refer to it more than any other book, I  
second Tony's nomination of that book as a most important  
contribution to the History of Economics.   
 
        But, while I am here, I have a question to which someone may have  
the answer at their finger tips.  Which presidents of the Economic  
History Association and the American Economic Association were  
NOT citizens of the United States?
