There is a John Heartfield photomontage from the 1930s showing a  
family sitting around the kitchen table gnawing on large nuts and bolts  
and citing a phrase from one of the top nazi officials related to this  
theme. I couldn't find my photomontage sourcebook, but the image is  
very famous and should be easy to track down.
