That would be a pure "quantitative" approach... meaning that the quality of different
contributions is homogeneous. What is best? 300 old Samuelson pages or 100 updated
Nordhaus?
 
I guess that co-authorship is like sex... somewhat complementarity, you do not know how
much effort everyone puts it - leaving literallity aside - and how much reward everyone
takes out... insofar it works well for everyone(voluntary exchanges as Adam taught us) it
is OK.
