CONTRACT ARCHIVIST

Are you a team player, with excellent oral and written communication skills, who
has demonstrated experience in processing confidential archival records, and can
exercise  initiative  and  judgement  in  responding  to  the  frequent  unusual
situations that arise in a research facility?

Are  you  interested  in  contributing  to  a dynamic, cutting edge archives and
records program in a business environment?

Do  you  have  a  university  degree,  post  secondary  archival  training,  and
experience in an archival or records management setting?

If  you  answered yes to these questions then you should apply for this 12  week
contract, running from February 18 - May 17, 2002. You will inventory, appraise,
and  research  the  legal  retention  requirements  of the records of the Scotia
Capital  Information  Centre,  and  obtain  cost  estimates for microfiching any
records  that  can  be retained in film format. You will produce an inventory of
the  Scotia  Capital  Information  Centre's  permanent  records,  and  a  report
outlining  recommendations  for  phase two of the project, which will consist of
archival processing and supervision of microfiching.

Your compensation will be $615.38/week (prorated from $32,000 annually).
