I second Bostaph's reference to the work of Joe Spengler in this matter. Any number of his
articles.  And much that H.A. Innis and Harry Johnson wrote.  The subject, as defined by
Warren Samuels, may not be part of Economics, but it certainly is part of the History of
Economics.
