Michael Perelman is, of course, absolutely right: "treasure" is a far more specific term
than "wealth." Specificity is perhaps among the differences between being a mercantilist
director of East India Company and a Scottish Enlightenment philosopher. Regarding
"richesses" I had, among others, A.-N. Isnard (1781) in mind.
