----------------- HES POSTING -----------------
One option is to teach history of economic thought to graduates - not first
year students.

An experienced professor of the history of medicine had this approach.

First the students have to study chemistry etc. Then they begin to take
courses in medicine. They become involved in the more detailed issues
related to the fact that it is often difficult to restore a patient.

Then they are ready to deal with the question: how did doctors deal with
the same problems in the past?

This approach may be fit for economics as well.
