I completely agree with Roy that this is a very important topic. I do think that those of us that work on the empirical side of Chicago, take the NBER connection seriously; I agree that more focused work can be done. But I think we can expect much from some young scholars (Tom Stapleford, Angus Burgin, and Beatrice Cherrier) in the future.
