ARCHIVIST - COUNTY OF LENNOX AND ADDINGTON (NAPANEE, ONTARIO)
Under the direction of the Manager, Museum & Archives, the Archivist
will be responsible for the curation of the documentary heritage
holdings of the County of Lennox and Addington.
Responsibilities:
- Archival records includes acquiring and appraising for retention.
- Accessing, arranging, describing, cataloguing, preserving and
storing archival materials.
- Maintains an archival retrieval system.
- Prepares electronic data for databases.
- Co-ordinates microfilming and digitization of the collection.
- Assists users in interpreting collections and answering enquiries.
- Responds to requests for information transmitted by other Museum and
Archives Information Services staff.
Qualifications:
- University degree, with emphasis on heritage studies.
- Masters Degree in Archival Studies an asset.
- Significant experience in archives preferred.
- Proficiency in managing electronic records and technology, including
archival database management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated dedication to public service.
Compensation:
The Archivist is a full-time position - 35 hours per week, with some
evening and weekend hours.
The wage range is $23.60 to $27.77 per hour ($42,952 to $50,541.40
annual salary) with a comprehensive benefits package.
