A number of excellent opportunities exist with the Archives of Ontario to
work in a team environment as archivists. Archivists at the Archives of
Ontario acquire and manage records with high evidential, informational and
legal value that document the key activities and decisions of the Government
of Ontario and the development of Ontario society. Working under the
leadership of a Senior Archivist in a subject or media based portfolio
containing records from both government and private sources you will:
appraise and acquire archival records from government and private sources,
arrange and describe records, and provide reference services.

Qualifications:  Thorough knowledge of archival science; knowledge of
Ontario history; working knowledge of archival descriptive standards,
information management principles and information technology; experience in
appraisal, acquisition, arrangement and description, preservation and access
issues; excellent communication and analytical skills; leadership, customer
service, organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills; demonstrated
ability to set priorities, provide direction to subordinate staff, and to
work with minimal supervision.
