The Scotiabank Group Archives & Fine Art Department is a unique Executive Management support system, which, through its dual functions, provides value-added services to Business Lines across the Group.

Manager – Archives

POSITION SUMMARY:
In this managerial role, you will lead the Archives team in providing archives management services worldwide to employees, shareholders and customers in the Scotiabank Group, and to the public as well. You will work closely with and support the Director, Corporate Archives and Fine Art to develop and implement policies and procedures for records appraisals, records transfer & analysis, records retrieval, research & publications support, and marketing-oriented heritage displays. In so doing, you will take steps to protect Scotiabank Group against financial and legal risks related to the loss, mismanagement or inadvertent destruction of corporate records. You will also create new concepts to enhance Scotiabank Group's Archives & Fine Art programs to improve service levels and build a more prominent profile.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 Five years’ experience managing an archival program in which you were also responsible for staff and budgets
 Demonstrated working knowledge of the Rules of Arrangement & Description (RAD)
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to give speeches on behalf of the Archives Department and Scotiabank as a whole
 Experience in dealing with electronic records and ability to use db Textworks software
 Knowledge of Canadian economic history in general and Canadian banking history in particular

EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATIONS:
 Master of Archival Science (MAS) degree
 Certified Archivist (CA) or willing to be accredited
