Yes, you are right, most of the literature of that period (fifteenth century and before)
dealt with the loss of money value related with the loss in its metallic content, mainly
as result of kings or governors changing its value. That's what made us focus our atention
on Al-Maqrizi; he indeed was speaking about the loss in the purchasing power of money.
That's what makes him really interesting. Anyway, I will look carefully at Al-Maqrizi's
terms and traslation and I will keep you informed. Thanks for the reading suggestions.
