There are interviews with both Tarshis and Samuelson in Colander's and
Landreth's book on the Coming of the Keynesian Revolution to America. I
believe both interviews talk about the troubles that Tarshis book had
and the good fortune that Samuelson had to not suffer the same fate as
Tarshis with the first edition of his introductory textbook. You should
find the quotation that you want there.
