Yes, Larry, there is a flagpole in that picture. It's a faint image,
granted, but it's there. According to Joe Curtis in Virginia City, it's the
same pole that was erected in 1862, but it's normally used on the Fourth of
July because the strong winds would rip to shreds any flag left up there
for more than a few days. Thanks for raising the question; I'll make the
appropriate revision to the picture caption.
