INTERNATIONAL WALRAS ASSOCIATION
Third Conference
Call for papers

The third bi-annual conference and the fourth general meeting of the International Walras
Association will take place in the Centre Auguste et Lyon Walras of the Université
Lumière, Lyon-2, Friday 20 September 2002.

All communications relating to the oeuvre of both Walrasses, father and son, to the
debates between them and their contemporaries and to the influence of their work on the
development of economic thought will be considered by the scientific committee.

However, the organisers would like to spend a part of the conference to the theme

RELATIONS BETWEEN LÉON WALRAS'S GREAT TREATISES.

Therefore, the committee would particularly welcome papers dealing simultaneously with at
least two of Léon Walras's major books:

Éléments d'économie politique pure, ou Théorie de la richesse sociale
Études d'économie politique appliquée (Théorie de la production de la richesse sociale)
Études d'économie sociale (Théorie de la répartition de la richesse sociale)

Those who want to present a paper, dealing with the theme or otherwise, are invited to
send a proposal in the form of a summary of it, together with the name, address and
affiliation of the person who is going to present it, by
March 1, 2002 to:

Claude Mouchot, vice-president of the IWA
Centre Auguste et Léon Walras, ISH
14 avenue Berthelot
69363 LYON cedex 07
tel. (33) 04 72 72 64 07 Fax. (33) 04 72 72 65 55
e-mail: [log in to unmask]

The scientific committee will answer by the end of April 2002.
The definitive papers should be sent in by 1 September 2002.
Those who want to participate without presenting a paper are kindly requested to address
themselves to the address above.
