Apparently, the AD-AS graph was used in a textbook for the first time in Jacob Marschak's
"Income, Employment and the Price Level" (New York: Kelley, 1951), based on lectures given
at the University of Chicago in 1948 and 1949. See also M. Boianovsky (2002): "Patinkin,
the Cowles Commission and the theory of unemployment and aggregate supply", European
Journal of the History of Economic Thought, 9, summer (forthcoming).
