[Soemtimes, the HES list software does accept accented characters.  For 
example, many of you will be able to see the accute accent on the "e" in 
Traite below.  I hope you understand that I cannot control how characters 
are translated and, when possible, I will try to include accented letters 
in messages.  HB] 
 
 
The topic 'what is an industry?' was dealt with in several messages on this 
list by the end of 2002 - I published some historical elements in the 
introduction to :Traité d'économie industrielle, 1000 pages R. Arena, L. 
Benzoni, De Bandt, ed., Paris, economica, 1991.  
 
If some people can read French, I could manage to send them these pages (I 
am considering to translate them into English)
