The History of Economics Society is now accepting nominations for its annual JOSEPH
DORFMAN BEST DISSERTATION AWARD for dissertations in history of economic thought and
economic methodology. In memory of Joseph Dorfman, historian of economic thought and
Distinguished Fellow of the History of Economics Society, his family endowed a permanent
fund for the award. The winner will receive a stipend of $500 plus travel expenses up to
$500 to attend the presentation at the Society's annual conference (8-11 June 2007 at
George Mason University).

The selection committee considers only nominated dissertations. All dissertations in the
history of economic thought and methodology completed during the last academic year
(September 2005 to August 2006) are eligible.

To nominate a dissertation for the award, please contact the chair of the committee, Carl
Wennerlind ([log in to unmask]) by December 10, 2006. Once nominated, the chair will
invite the author to submit the dissertation electronically.

Dorfman Prize Committee: Maria de Fatima Brandao, Evelyn Forget, and Carl Wennerlind
(chair).
