Can  someone  explain why it is of any interest to know whether people used the infinitive
or the imperative form of the phrase? It may be of curiosity  value  to  find  out  which
version was originally used, or which  one  English-speaking  writers  picked  up, but I
don't see why anything  significant  hangs  on  either  issue.  Can anyone provide a
convicing  explanation of why we should care about the answer to these questions?
