A number of excellent opportunities exist with the Archives of Ontario to
work in a team environment as unclassified contract archivists for an
initial period of 5 to 5½ months. Under the leadership of a Senior Archivist
you will: appraise and acquire archival records from government and private
sources, arrange and describe records, and provide reference services.
QUALIFICATIONS: Thorough knowledge of archival science; knowledge of
Ontario history; knowledge of archival descriptive standards, information
management and information technology; experience in appraisal, acquisition,
arrangement and description, preservation and access issues; excellent
communication and analytical skills; leadership, customer service,
organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills; demonstrated ability
to set priorities, provide direction to subordinate staff, and to work with
minimal supervision.
