VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN: THE HEALTH SECTOR RESPONDS

PAHO invites you to explore one of its newest publications, "Violence
Against Women: The Health Sector Responds". This book details PAHO's
experience in 10 Latin American countries and draws on expert research,
findings and interventions from fields such as public policy, law and
human rights, health psychology and women's studies. "Violence Against
Women: The Health Sector Responds" emphasizes the prevention of
gender-based violence from the community, national and international
levels. The book provides evaluations of various projects implemented
in Latin America and an analysis of their future implications on a
global scale. In addition, it offers the perspectives of primary
sources as women describe living with violence and the community's
response to their needs. For more information on this publication,
