One afterthought, especially regarding Hal Bush's phrasing of a "cultural
response": it seems to me that an assessment of AutoMT1's immediate
reception ought also to consider the reception of Mark Kupperman's
absurdist graphic novel, titled _Mark Twain's Autobiography, 1910-2010_
(published 2011). It situates itself as SLC's next hundred years' worth of
adventures. If only because of their respective titles, just as AutoMT1's
visibility has boosted Kupperman's book's buzz, Kupperman's book--released
a year later--has helped to prolong AutoMT1's.
Best,
Sharon
