Will Vinton's Claymation _Adventure of Mark Twain_ is a gem; mostly
accurate, pretty dark in the right places, and cool to watch. Well worth
renting. PBS did a version of _Pudd'nhead Wilson_ eight years back that
I enjoyed. It's a tough work to adapt to the screen, and whoever was
responsible deserves kudos for coming as close as they did. The Cary
Grant version of "The Million Pound Banknote" (_Man with a Million_,
1954, I think), was fun and clever, though without much ballast. I have
argued elsewhere that the great _Trading Places_, with Eddie Murphy and
Dan Aykroyd, is based on _Man with a Million_. There are probably a
whole bunch of totally uncredited movies over the years, ones like
_Trading Places_, that deserve to be on the list too.
