In September 1929, Frank H. Knight published an abstract of "Les équations 
de Walras et de Cassel et la théorie de la productivité marginale," by 
Willem-L. Walk in the first volume of Social Science Abstracts (p. 917). Of 
course, reading this article does not indicate that Knight had read Walras' 
own work. 
 
For those who do not know Social Science Abstracts, it was a short-lived 
(1929 - 1932) effort to provide English-language abstracts of the 
non-English, European social scientific journals for a North American 
audience.
