On the scholarly books front, I have recently received the "Second Edition--Revised and
Enlarged" of ECONOMIC ANALYSIS IN TALMUDIC LITERATURE: RABBINIC THOUGHT IN LIGHT OF MODERN
ECONOMICS. As many of you know, the first edition was written by Roman A. Ohrenstein and
the late Barry Gordon. The sole author listed on the second edition is Ohrenstein--on the
jacket, on the title page, etc. That is, the book is selfconsiously not Ohrenstein and
Gordon, in spite of the fact that the introduction makes clear that the first edition was
co-authored with Gordon and that much of the first edition remains.

I do not know and will not speculate as to reasons for this. I merely point out that this
is a case of a scholarly book which a deceased co-author's name has vanished as an author
of the work.
