Arild Saether has written an interesting paper entitled "The Forgotten Dissertation". The
forgotten dissertation is a book published in the Norwegian language by Trygve J.B Hoff
about the socialist calculation debate. This book was reviewed by the English economist
Henry D. Dickinson in the Economic Journal in 1940 before an English translation came out.
He is trying  to find out how Dickinson could review a book which was written in
Norwegian.   Does anyone know about Dickinson and his   knowledge of the Norwegian
