This thing about the clinking of coins somehow keeps turning up.
Thirty years ago a Dutch novelist had written a story about a Chinese
judge who was very wise and, after a claim by a restaurant owner,
sentenced the neighbour of the restaurant owner to rock his money in
his hands for the sound as a payment for the nice odours he smelled.
I believe his stories do come from pretty ancient stories in China.
