The Archives Association of Ontario is offering a joint site visit
programme, as a pilot project this spring. This program would involve a
full day site visit from AAO's advisory team. The morning would consist
of an overall institutional assessment led by the Archives Advisor, Tom
Belton. The afternoon would be a preservation assessment conducted by
the Preservation Consultant, Iona McCraith. However, both advisors would
be available for the day.

For this pilot project only new members of the Archives Association of
Ontario (i.e. those who have joined since January 2003) are invited to
send their expressions of interest to the Coordinator of Advisory
Services, Jennifer Svarckopf, by March 5. Jennifer can be reached at
(613) 947-1488 or by email at [log in to unmask] Visits would
likely be scheduled in late March or April 2004 and will be on a
first-come-first-serve basis.

If there is sufficient interest in these full day visits, the AAO will
offer them on a regular basis (depending on funding) once or twice a
year. At least one session will be offered to eligible members in the
area of the annual conference. The regular Archives Advisor and
Preservation Consultant services and separate site visits will continue
to be available to AAO members throughout
the year.
