In addition to the Mark Twain Forum review, there was also apparently a
review by Gregg Camfield in Nineteenth Century Literature 1996 Sep;51(2),
but it's not accessible electronically because, according to its UC Press
Site , "Your access to the full text of Nineteenth-Century
Literature--Electronic Edition (NCL-E) has been denied. ...You have
requested an item that requires a PAID institutional subscription to
Nineteenth-Century Literature--Electronic Edition (NCL-E), and your
institution does not have a paid subscription. We are not currently
offering subscriptions to individuals." Another review , by Scott Herman,
is available at
http://etext.virginia.edu/railton/enam482/herman.html.
