Mark your calendars for the
55th Annual Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA) Conference!

-------------------------------------------------
PUBLIC HEALTH: THE BEST HEALTH INVESTMENT
Thinking Fast | Thinking Smart | Thinking New
-------------------------------------------------

Date: November 23 & 24, 2004
(following the Ministry Education Day, November 22, 2004)
Location: Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre Hotel

Please join us for this exciting public health event to learn, network with
colleagues and be on the leading edge regarding emerging public health
issues.

Conference updates will be posted on the OPHA website at
http://www.opha.on.ca/activities/conference.html

Many thanks to The Public Health Research, Education and Development Program
(PHRED), who has generously volunteered to take the responsibility of
reviewing the abstracts and planning the program, and to the Ministry of
Health and Long Term Care, whose increased support has made this conference
possible this year.

---------------------

“All For One and One For All!”

Volunteers from all corners of Ontario’s public health sector are being
sought to help plan and stage this year’s OPHA Conference. Please consider
volunteering or supporting staff/students in your workplace to volunteer to
help with this important event. This is an excellent opportunity to support
your provincial association, to get involved in the largest public health
event of the year, and to promote and enhance your skills.

If you have expertise in special event planning, publicity and promotions,
graphic design and production, fundraising, or web development, or just want
to lend a hand wherever it's needed, we would like to hear from you.

The conference will be held in Toronto on November 23 & 24, 2004. Time
requirements for each position varies, but volunteers are asked to commit at
least 10 hours per month for the next 10 months and will be expected to
attend at least 1 meeting per month (either in person or via
teleconference). Regular email access is required.

If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please
contact Sophie Bart, OPHA Coordinator of Communications and Volunteer
Resources, at [log in to unmask] or (416) 367-3313 / 1-800-267-6817 ext. 237.
Please include your full contact information, area of interest and time
availability.
