Great News from Hannibal! Thanks to the many people who have written
and e-mailed with their concerns, the Mark Twain Boyhood Home Foundation
has formally announced it has dropped plans to construct the phony
schoolhouse and church in the area immediately around the house.
Special thanks to Shelly Fisher-Fishkin for her prompt concern and
attention. The Hannibal Historic District Development Commission wishes
to also thank architectural historian Esley Hamilton who articulated the
preservation concerns so well. The foundation is working on
reconstruciton of the Blankenship house.

Thank you,
Terrell Dempey
Secretary Hannibal Historic District Development Commission
