Bravo, Mike Williams!
As a journalist, Twaniac and longtime Springsteen fan, I know what it
means when someone tries to put his or her own spin on your words. I suspect
our dear Sam was no fan of open conflict; most writers aren't. He was right
about the Philippines; he'd probably have been right as week about all the
"wars" waged under the U.S. flag since Reagan went to protect subpar medical
students in Grenada.
But we don't know for sure. We should glean Sam's wisdom with care, love
and prudence.
