To add a little More--

Twain certainly enjoyed Florence. He strengthened his
friendship with William James in the 1892-93 period while both men had
their families on vacation in Florence. James wrote to a couple of his
friends that Twain enjoyed the dinner parties with his friends
immensely, and that he provided the spark for conversation and song. No
surprise here, I guess. Just imagine a dinner or party with Twain.

Jason
