Colleagues: Over the past two years a number of you have asked for  
permission to cite from a manuscript of my forthcoming book. Several  
of those references of yours are now in print, or to appear.  
 
Unfortunately for those who have used these references, the title I  
had given to you has now, this month, been changed by my publisher.  
The correct new title is _How Economics Became a Mathematical  
Science_ (Durham: Duke University Press, 2002).
