Here is another one from Walras' Elements (=A7 387) on Jules Dupuit's 
articles (1844 and 1849): 
 
"in the two Dupuit's articles it is convenient to put totally aside all the 
considerations regarding the variation of utility based on prices, and on 
the quantities demanded at these prices. It is true that these 
considerations are the main object of his work; but it is also true that 
they are built only on a total confusion between the utility curve and the 
demand curve". 
 
Not to mention Cournot (Preface) on Nicolas-Francois Canard's Principes  
(1801): 
 
"these claimed principles are so radically false, and their application is 
so wrong, that the acknowledge given by an eminent institution [the French 
Institute] wasn't able to save the work from oblivion".
