HED currently has an open competition for a higher education partnership
with Egypt focused on economics research. We'd like to share the
announcement below with those interested in working in economics in

Higher Education for Development (HED), in cooperation with the US
Agency for International Development (USAID), is seeking applications
from US higher education institutions to collaborate with international
counterparts through an Economics partnership. For details about

One (1) award of up to $400,000 for this three-year higher education
partnership will expand the capacity of the Cairo University Department

ability to serve as a regional hub for teaching, research and service in
economics.

The Higher Education for Development (HED) program office promotes
higher education's engagement in social and economic development through
institutional and human capacity building in developing countries.
Established in 1992 as the Association Liaison Office for University
Cooperation in Development (ALO), HED assists the nation's six major
higher education associations in partnering with the U.S. Agency for
International Development (USAID), as well as other development
agencies, donor organizations, and foundations.
