I suspect what Hayek quoted you will not find verbatim in the sources he  
cites, at least not in all cases. Some of the difficulty may come from  
minor differences in translations from French or German. But it's hard to  
imagine Google cannot find the Disraeli quote. For an example of how famous= 
  
quotes develop from different original language, see Tennyson, "Locksley  
Hall" (1842). 
Comte, "totalitarian"? That's a deep misreading on Hayek's part. But never= 
  
mind.
