Two possible answers.  
  
1. Why do you think you are teaching the truth? (And have you finally stopped beating your
wife?)
  
2. Personally I think it's a valuable exercise in the history of ideas. But in the
classroom I try to teach a history of truth-seeking, and thereby give an antidote to
teachers like yourself.
