CALL FOR PAPERS
The Department of Economics of the University of Siena, Italy, announces
the 2nd Workshop on the History of Economics to be held on November 26-27,
2004 at the Certosa of Pontignano near Siena. The Workshop aims to provide
an opportunity for young scholars to discuss their research work in an open
and conversational setting. Only proposals from scholars at both
predoctoral and postdoctoral levels will be considered. There is no
limitation regarding subject or time period covered. The Workshop will
consist of the presentation and discussion of four papers. There will be
two sessions, giving each presenter 45 minutes for presentation; discussion
will take a total of 45 minutes including comments by two discussants. A
good working knowledge of English is obviously essential.
The Workshop is organized by Luca Fiorito (University of Palermo), Roberto
Romani (University of Teramo) and Carlo Zappia (University of Siena). The
Workshop Board is composed of Marco Dardi, Marco Guidi, Tiziano Raffaelli,
Philippe Steiner, Roy Weintraub and Donald Winch.
Applications consisting of a c.v. and a two-to-four-page paper description
must be received by June 30; selected scholars will be notified by July 15.
The deadline for submissions of full papers is October 1. All papers will
be circulated in advance through the workshop website:
http://www.econ-pol.unisi.it/isep04. Applications and requests for further
information should be sent by e-mail to Professor Carlo Zappia,
[log in to unmask] Travel and accommodation for paper presenters will be
financed by the Department of Economics and other supporting institutions.
