Second Call for Papers: workshop on 'Newton and/as Philosophy'

The workshop is made possible by a grant by Netherlands Organisation for Scientific
Research and will be hosted by the University of Leiden, Department of Philosophy, the
Netherlands, on 21-24 June 2007.

Main invited participants:
Michael Friedman (Stanford University)
Daniel Garber (Princeton University)
James McGuire (University of Pittsburgh)
Graciela de Pierris (Stanford University)
George Smith (Dibner/Tufts University)
Catherine Wilson (CUNY, Graduate Center)

The workshop organizers welcome proposals that examine the "philosophic" significance, if
any, of Newton's natural philosophy. The workshop is open to contextual, historical, and
analytical (etc) approaches.

Please email abstracts (500 words), as soon as you can, but not later than 31 August 2006,
to Eric Schliesser ([log in to unmask]). Email if you have any questions.

There may be some travel money available for young scholars and graduate students.
