Dear all,
For a recent scholarship of the Austrian School of Economics, see, for
instance, the following, in which one finds not only US, but also
European contributions:
Modern Applications of Austrian Thought, ed. by
J. Backhaus, Routledge, 2005.
Perhaps the introduction of the editor below might
be somewhat related to the ongoing discussion on the list.
Quote:
"Austrian economics is often conceived as an ideology. People
are thought to stir in the older mud of unintelligible writings, and
henceforth disagree among another. It is also often said that
Austrian economis is not empirical. With this book,
I try to dispel all three of these notions."
(Preface, xiv.)
This seems to me
an interesting and also fruitful research programme in the future.
Of course I am not quite sure whether
the empirical
direction is thought to be relevant in the camp of the "Austrian"
members of economics.
A comment from a non-member of the camp,
but still deeply involved in the study of Austrian School of Economics.
