We held a year-long anniversary in 2008 as it was the 100th year of
Twain's coming to Redding and his founding of our library. We had a
town-wide read of "Huckleberry Finn"-giving away about 900 copies of
the book with four seminars following-and a host of other events.
Since he also died in Redding in 2010, we may do something else at
the library, but celebrating his death doesn't seem altogether a
happy event.
