Gonzalo, my suggestion that Longmans may still have the records  
concerning the book was not a pure hopeful assumption. They certainly  
do have their records back to 1830, as results from  the inquiry made  
by G.S.L. Tucker in order to ascertain the authorship of Huskisson's  
Essays on political economy.

I would give that a shot as well.
