At the risk of being accused of thinking half-way logically, a step up for
me, I'll note that one of the books that Sam Clemens read and found
influential, a model for seeing ourselves as others do, even from the
vantage point of other worlds, was Oliver Goldsmith's *Citizen of the
World.*
