Director, Ontario Jewish Archives
1 Year Contract Position

UJA Federation requires a Director for the Ontario Jewish Archives.  In
accordance with recognized professional principles and procedures, and
approved in-house policies, the archivist acquires, appraises, arranges and
describes, preserves and makes accessible the holdings of the Ontario Jewish
Archives.

Requirements:

-- Master of Archival Studies degree or equivalent
-- Minimum of five years work experience working in an established archives,
performing all basic archival functions, including the direction and
supervision of staff and/or volunteers
-- Requires a thorough understanding of archival principles and professional
practice
-- Familiarity with records management principles and practice
-- Working knowledge of conservation principles, museum principles and
practice
-- Knowledge of Jewish Community an asset
-- Excellent written and oral communication skills
-- Ability to work in a team environment
-- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, organize work, meet deadlines and
work with minimal supervision.
-- Demonstrated proficiency in a PC environment, and with common information
storage and database retrieval systems.
