If choice is so constrainted that it amounts to chosing from a set with one  
element, can it still be called choice? Is it not the case that in this  
situation it is turning a theory of choice into a tautology? Marx also made a  
distinction between formal freedom and substantial freedom. It would seem that  
this distinction would be of use in Michael's example.
