Professor Warren Young, an old friend, wrote to ask me to remove Holocaust Denial from my
list of fields of study--as he was offended by its inclusion with other fields of far
better pedigrees. I regret having offended Warren and anyone else of his faith by
mentioning Holocaust Denial in the same breath with the other fields--even Astrology. As
Warren knows, I was making a point by sarcasm and perhaps I went too far. There is no
argument known to me that would provide even a shred of legitimacy for Holocaust Denial.
It lies in an intellectual gutter and I should not have stooped to pick it up for any
purpose.

As we all know, men such as the current head of state in Iran and certain demogogues in
Egypt and other places are currently referencing Holocaust Denial arguments; however, they
are the sort of people who use any verbal weapon in their political games. I doubt that
even they believe what they say anymore than certain administrative figures in this
country.
